Church Strategy
Our leadership and ministry leaders have been discussing a strategy called "Simple Church" based on the book by that title, co-authored by Thomas Rainer and Eric Geiger. The book is subtitled – "Returning to God's Process for Making Disciples." The discussion led to a revision of our vision statement and to our commitment to focus on three areas of discipleship – Worship, Transformation, and Service.
We see each of these focuses as natural responses to the work of the gospel in our lives. We believe that all Christians should be involved in both personal and corporate worship, transformational Bible studies in smaller groups, and service to the church, the community, and the world. We will lovingly and intentionally encourage everyone at GFC to engage the whole process of Worship, Transformation, and Service.
Our Mission

Another Way Of Looking At Worship, Transformation, And Service
Here at GFC we've been focusing on a church strategy based on the book "Simple Church". We've chosen to commit ourselves to three areas of discipleship – Worship, Transformation, and Service. Another practical way of speaking about "WTS" is to see Worship as "Loving Jesus," Transformation as "Listening to and Living for Jesus Christ," and Service as "Leading others to Jesus." Can you imagine a church where everyone had these goals of Loving, Listening to, Living for, and Leading others to Jesus? This is simple, basic, uncomplicated, yet powerful Christianity.
Loving Jesus is a personal commitment that is best expressed in community with others who love Jesus. After all, is this not the mark of a Christian: "By this all men will know that you are my disciples, if you love one another?" Loving Jesus will exhibit a love for the church which He gave His life to purchase. Loving Jesus leads to the joy of worshipping him both personally and corporately.
Listening to and Living for Jesus means that we hear and obey His words. True, radical life-change (Transformation) is more than a superficial reformation of the way we live. True, radical life-change comes from a heart that loves Jesus and His church, and mind that seeks to understand His will as revealed in the Bible, and a will that surrenders to His Lordship over every area of life.
Leading others to Jesus is the natural consequence of a life that Loves Him, Listen to Him, and Lives for Him. Leading others to Him is our God-ordained mission.
A healthy Christian is one who continues to grow in Loving, Listening to, Living for, and Leading others to Jesus. How am I doing in these areas of Christian nurture? Am I growing deeper in my love for Jesus? Am I listening to Jesus more and Living for Him more intently and comprehensively? Is God using me to Lead others to Him?
As we focus on the awesome attractiveness of the grace of God and the mighty power of God displayed in the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ, we experience the renewing work of the Spirit of God who gently causes us to Love, to Listen to, to Live for, and to Lead others to Jesus.
Come join us on this wonderful journey!
